The wood-fired power station Berlin-Neukölln / Gropiusstadt is a power station for the district heating supply of the Berlin district Gropiusstadt . It is located on the Teltow Canal in the Rudow district of Berlin ( Neukölln district ) and is operated by innogy SE .
Performance data
According to the operator, the power plant provides 65 megawatts of thermal output and 20 megawatts of electrical output. In addition, three gas-fired peak-load boilers, each with 33 megawatts of thermal energy, are available. The electricity generated is fed into the electricity grid in accordance with the provisions of the Renewable Energy Sources Act .
The power plant requires around 240,000 tons of wood per year, which is made up of fresh wood and waste wood of categories A1 to A4 . The flue gas cleaning takes place after the injection of activated coke and hydrated lime through a fabric filter. In doing so, emission values are achieved that are largely significantly below the approved values.
