Homero Alsina Thevenet

Homero Alsina Thevenet (born August 6, 1922 in Montevideo , Uruguay ; † December 12, 2005 ibid), better known under his acronym HAT , was a Uruguayan journalist and writer .

Alsina Thevenet began working as a journalist in 1937, initially concentrating on film reviews. He worked for Cine Radio Actualidad , Marcha , Film magazine and the daily El País . From 1965 to 1976 he lived in Buenos Aires . When the political situation in South America changed, he went to Spain and settled in Barcelona from 1976 to 1984 . He then returned to the Argentine capital in 1984, where he stayed until 1989. In those years he worked for Panorama , Siete Dias , La Razón and Página / 12 . Since 1989 he has held the position of editor-in-chief of the El País supplement El País Cultural in Montevideo, which he founded . He stayed that way until his death. Alsina Thevenet was also the author and co-author of numerous books that dealt thematically with the film sector in particular. In 1992 he accepted the Premio Cóndor de Plata . In 2001 he received the Legión del Libro from the Cámara Uruguaya del Libro (CUDL) .
