Previous model Honda NSX Super GT

The Honda HSV-010 GT is a prototype racing car designed by Honda for factory outings in the Japanese Super GT series and unveiled in January 2010. HSV stands for Honda Sports Velocity .

history

On October 23, 2009, Honda announced that the previously used Honda NSX Super GT will be withdrawn, as the new Super GT regulations only allow vehicles with front-engine and rear-wheel drive . The NSX mid-engine sports car did not meet this rule . At the same time, Honda announced that they would continue to be represented in the series and develop a new vehicle. This would be based on the "New NSX" sports car, which was stopped in the wake of the financial crisis and developed to production readiness. Although all Super GT racing cars from Toyota / Lexus (SC430) and Nissan (GT-R) are based on production cars, Honda was now allowed to use a car that is not available as a street version.

technology

The HSV-010 GT is powered by a V8 engine called HR10EG with 3.4 liter displacement and a cylinder angle of 90 °, which delivers an output of more than 370 kW (~ 500 PS) and a maximum torque of almost 400 Nm.
