Hong Myong-hui (born September 4, 1991 ) is a North Korean soccer player . The goalkeeper is a North Korean national player .

Hong plays at the April 25th Sports Club . She won the 2008 Asian Cup and the 2008 U-17 World Cup with North Korea , where she was voted third best goalkeeper of the tournament. At the U-20 World Cup in 2010 , North Korea reached the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated against the hosts and eventual world champions Germany . In the same year she was a regular goalkeeper at the Asian Cup , where North Korea only lost on penalties to Australia in the final, and at the Asian Games , where the final was lost to Japan . At the 2011 World Cup in Germany, she played all three games. But then she was tested positive for anabolic steroids during a doping control and banned for 18 months. After her suspension, she was called back to the national team. She took part in the Algarve Cup 2014 and won the gold medal with North Korea at the 2014 Asian Games .
