The Honschaft Gruiten up to the 19th century, one of the lowest administrative units of the Berg community Gruiten in the mayoralty Haan in the district Elberfeld the administrative district of Dusseldorf within the Prussian Rhine Province . Previously belonged Honschaft from about 1350 to Office Solingen to the sub rule Schoeller in the Duchy of Berg .

According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1832, the following towns and places of residence belonged to the Honschaft: Düsselberg , Gruiten , Heinhausen and Hermgesberg .

With the municipal regulations for the Rhine Province in 1845, the honor was converted into the Gruiten municipality .
