Hoppe's figwort ( Scrophularia juratensis ) is a species of figwort ( Scrophularia ) in the family of figwort plants (Scrophulariaceae). It is also known as the subspecies Scrophularia canina subsp. hoppii (WDJ Koch) P.Fourn. posed to dogwort .

Hoppe's figwort is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of up to 50 centimeters. The "rhizome" is fleshy. The loose leaf rosette consists of basal leaves that are long-stalked, double pinnate and bare. The leaf blade is ovate and up to 10 centimeters long. The opposite stem leaves are shorter stalked and sitting on top.

The inflorescence is elongated and consists of opposite and above of alternate forked branched partial inflorescences below. The flower stalks have stalked glands. The four-fold flower is clearly two-lipped and has a length of up to 5 millimeters. The calyx lobes have a white border. The four petals are red-brown. The upper tube is as big as the corolla tube, has a thread-like extension and is bilobed. The lower lip is simple and curled. There are four stamens of different lengths , two of which protrude from the crown.

The flowering period extends from June to August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.

Occurrence

Hoppes figwort occurs in the mountains of southern Europe and southern central Europe, as well as in the southern Alps in dry, sunny places, on rock rubble and in cracks in the rock at altitudes of 1000 to 2000 meters. The species is common. Its distribution area includes France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Austria and Switzerland.
