Horacio Abadie Santos

Horacio Abadie Santos (born May 23, 1886 in Montevideo , † November 24, 1936 ) was a Uruguayan politician , lawyer and journalist .

Abadie Santos, who was married to María Sara Fossati Rosselli (1892–1985) from August 10, 1917 and had three children with her named Horacio , Sara and Renée , was professor of criminal law at the Universidad de la República . The author of several books in the criminal, cultural and political field published as a journalist also under the pseudonyms Maese Nicolás , Fray Martín , Ayax and Galf .

Abadie Santos, who belonged to the Partido Colorado , held the post of Education Minister of Uruguay from 1933 to 1934 as part of his political career. In addition, from May 18, 1934 to November 24, 1936 was a member of the Cámara de Representantes, first for the Montevideo Department and from July 2, 1934 for Tacuarembó .

There is a monument in his honor on the Rambla República Argentina in Montevideo.
