The Horch 10 M 20 is a passenger car of the upper-middle class , which the Horchwerke in Zwickau first new model according to the 1922 World War brought out. The design was taken over by Arnold Zoller at Argus Motoren Gesellschaft in Berlin. Its owner Moritz Straus also held the majority of the shares in Horchwerke AG from the beginning of the 1920s .
The vehicle had a 4-cylinder in-line engine with upright valves and a displacement of 1.6 liters. It developed 35 hp at 2000 rpm. It drove the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox with a gearshift lever in the middle of the car. The cars with U-profile frames had leaf-sprung rigid axles and were available as four-seater touring cars or city coupes.
In July 1923 Paul Daimler became chief designer at Argus and redesigned the engine. He constructed a valve train with an overhead camshaft that was driven by a vertical shaft. With these changes the engine delivered 50 hp at 2800 rpm. The car offered from 1924 was called the Horch 10 M 25 , was the first German car to have four-wheel brakes and was only supplied in a six-seater version. Around 2300 pieces were produced by 1926.
From 1926 the Horch 8 replaced this model series.
