Horn is a German extreme metal band from Paderborn .

history

Horn was founded in 2002 as a one-man project by the musician Nerrath. Since then, only guest musicians have been involved in the musical publications in the past and the live performances are made possible by a live cast.

style

The style of music can be described as Pagan Metal, oriented towards classic Black Metal , but in a quieter and less brutal form than is often found in Black Metal. Up to and including the album Naturkraft , which was released in 2008 , alongside traditional black metal instruments such as guitar or drums, keyboard passages , acoustic guitars or natural noises and horn blows were incorporated to underline a nature-related orientation. At the time, the texts were purely related to nature mysticism and experiences of nature.

Since the release of the album Distance in 2010, the musical and lyrical style has shifted away from the nature-mystical, atmospheric borrowings towards a more classic Black Metal style. In addition to the continuing relationship with nature, the texts and cover designs increasingly incorporated historical topics such as the First World War ( field post ), the Second World War ( conflict ) or the life of the late Middle Ages and early modern times ( tower on the slope ). In addition to the previously purely German and English-language texts, texts in Norwegian , Swedish , Finnish , Dutch and Icelandic were also taken up.
