Schönried is a village in the Saanenland ( Canton Bern , Switzerland ). It is at 1231 m above sea level. M. between Gstaad and Zweisimmen and belongs to the municipality of Saanen . Schönried is a holiday resort with a well-developed skiing and hiking area.
The residential areas are at an altitude of 1,190 m to 1,327 m. Schönried has its own school building ( primary school ), a post office, a cheese dairy and a few shops.

Schönried has a station on the Montreux – Berner Oberland Railway (MOB) on the Zweisimmen - Montreux line . The closest stops are to the east of the Saanenmöser train station and to the west the request stop and siding pits .
The Rellerli gondola lift leads from Schönried to the northwestern Rellerligrat (1831 m above sea level). A chairlift leads to the south-east to Horneggli (1770 m above sea level) below the summit of the Hornflue (1949 m above sea level). In winter there is part of the Gstaad Mountain Rides ski area here . In this part there are continuously passable ski slopes that reach over the Saanenmöser to Zweisimmen; however, you have to use ski lifts to get to Zweisimmen.
