Horsenden is a village in Buckinghamshire , England . It is in the central part of the county, near the Oxfordshire border . The Icknield Way , a long-distance footpath whose origins can be traced back to pre-Roman times, traverses the village in an east-west direction.

The village is believed to be named after Horsa , one of the first Anglo-Saxons to settle in Kent in the fifth century . It is unlikely that Horsa owned land in the Horsendens district, as the Anglo-Saxon conquest of this part of Britain did not take place until the sixth century. However, it is likely that the place was named in honor of Horsas Horsan-dun (Horsa's Hill).

In 1480 the Welsh nobleman and diplomat Sir John Donne acquired a large country estate in Horsenden.

The parish church in Horsendens is dedicated to Saint Michael and all angels.

Jay Kay , singer of the acid jazz band Jamiroquai lives in Horsenden Manor, where he has set up his own private recording studio.
