Life

After graduating from high school in 1971, Nitt studied law and musicology at the University of Erlangen until 1976 . Between 1977 and 1979 he worked as a trainee lawyer at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court , and from 1979 to 1990 Nitt worked as an independent lawyer . In 1990 he took up the post of mayor of Graefenberg and remained in office until 1996. In 1996 he gave up his membership in the CSU and was henceforth non-party. In 1996 he was elected mayor of the city by the Pinneberger council assembly with the votes of the CDU , the GAL and the UfW (Independent Free Voters Association Pinneberg), which the Pinneberger Zeitung later classified as a "small sensation". In 1999, Schleswig-Holstein's Ministry of the Interior investigated a building permit issued by Nitt for a sorting and storage hall and classified it as illegal. In 2000, Nitt said about his administration that his goal was to be close to the people. When he was re-elected in 2002, the citizens elected him with 57 percent of the vote. In 2008 Nitt ran again, but was not re-elected and had to hand over the mayor's office to Kristin Alheit . During his tenure, Nitt was a member of around 20 clubs, and this “part of his official duties” he enjoyed “as a parade role”, wrote the Pinneberger Zeitung in September 2008.

Nitt returned to his hometown Bayreuth and worked there again as a lawyer. From 2010 to 2014 he was chairman of the Gesellschaft der Kulturfreunde Bayreuth . Nitt is the father of four sons.
