Horst Günther (politician)

Horst Günther (born July 17, 1939 in Rheinhausen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1991 to 1998 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Labor and Social Affairs .

Life

After attending elementary school , Günther completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk from 1954 to 1957 , which he completed with a commercial assistant certificate. He then worked as a commercial clerk at Friedrich Krupp - Hütten- und Bergwerke Rheinhausen AG until 1960 .

Günther began his work for the German Employees' Union (DAG) in 1960 as a trade union secretary in Duisburg . From 1971 to 1977 he headed the collective bargaining and company policy department of the DAG North Rhine-Westphalia and was then until 1982 head of the DAG regional association in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1971 to 1977 he was also chairman of the state works council and from 1975 to 1977 also the general works council of the DAG.

Horst Günther is married and has two children.

Political party

He has been a member of the CDU since 1962. Here he was particularly involved in the Christian Democratic Workforce (CDA), of which he was district chairman in Duisburg for many years.

MP

Günther was a member of the German Bundestag from 1980 to 1998 . From 1987 to 1990 he was chairman of the labor and social working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

Horst Günther has always entered the Bundestag via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Public offices

On January 24, 1991 he was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Labor and Social Affairs in the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl . After the 1998 Bundestag election , he left office on October 26, 1998.
