Horst Gieseler (born April 29, 1942 in Herne ) is a former German hurdler who specialized in the 400 meter distance .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , he was eliminated from the 400 m hurdles . Two years later at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest , he also started in the 400 m hurdles and finished sixth.

In 1964 he became German champion over 400 m hurdles . He set his personal best of 50.3 s on August 7, 1966 in Hanover .

Horst Gieseler started for VfL Bochum .
