Horst Heilmann (painter)

Horst Heilmann (* 1944 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) is a German painter.

Life

Horst Heilmann grew up in Kempten (Allgäu) and attended the humanistic grammar school there (today: Carl-von-Linde grammar school Kempten ). Horst Heilmann , who was executed as a resistance fighter in Berlin-Plötzensee in 1942, was his uncle.

Horst Heilmann studied from 1964 to 1970 in Mannheim and at the Munich Art Academy . From 1972 to 2000 he worked as an art teacher at the Allgäu-Gymnasium in Kempten (Allgäu) . Parallel to his teaching activities, he created an extensive and varied work as a painter and draftsman. His paintings and graphics can be found in collections and museums in the Allgäu , but are also shown internationally. Even after his retirement he is still an artist and his pictures are represented in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
