Horst Ihlenfeld (born November 24, 1926 in Berlin ; † June 8, 2007 there ) was a German athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR) who was three times GDR long jump champion in the 1950s .

In 1951 Ihlenfeld was second at the GDR championships with 7.09 m, two centimeters behind Herbert Büsser , in 1952 he was 7.03 m behind Hans Key . In 1953 with 7.18 m, 1954 with 7.04 m and 1955 with 7.14 m he won the title and was also the only seven-meter jumper. In 1957 he jumped back to second place behind Heinz Auga . As a sports student, Ihlenfeld took part three times in the UIE Sports Weeks, the Universiade of the Eastern Bloc, and in 1951 took sixth and 1953 third place.

Ihlenfeld set three GDR records in the long jump: in 1953 he jumped 7.36 m and 7.39 m. In 1955 he jumped 7.51 m in Budapest. At that time, Luz Long's all-German record from 1937 was 7.90 m. Ihlenfeld was active in GDR championships, but especially in GDR team championships, as a high jumper. His best championship placement was fifth in 1952. He jumped his best performance of 1.86 m in 1958. With the team from Einheit Nordost Berlin he won from 1951 to 1954 four times the GDR team championship.
