Horst Kramp

Horst Kramp (born April 15, 1931 in Hamburg ; † August 13, 2010 in Berlin ) was a German manager, board member of Schering AG and president of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce .

Life, accomplishments and work

After an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at the Norddeutsche Affinerie in Hamburg, he rose to become an authorized signatory in the company. In 1958 he took over the sales management for the domestic business of a subsidiary of the Norddeutsche Affinerie. In 1964 Horst Kramp moved to Schering as head of the domestic crop protection sales department. In 1977 he became a board member of this company. On the board of directors, he was responsible for the electroplating division, various regions and the central sales functions. In 1994 he left the board of directors and moved to the supervisory board.

From 1984 to 1997 he was President of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he was chairman of the trade policy committee of the Association of the Chemical Industry , member of the board of the German World Economic Society and member of the executive committee of the Federal Association of German Industry .

He was also a long-time member of the supervisory board of Bankgesellschaft Berlin and Axel Springer Verlag .

Honors

In 1992 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class for his work in the field of international cooperation.
