Horst Luthin

Horst Luthin (born January 12, 1935 in Osnabrück ) was the presiding judge at the Hamm Higher Regional Court until his retirement .

Luthin studied law at the Universities of Freiburg and Münster and after completing his legal training initially settled as a lawyer . After a brief activity in the administration of the State of Lower Saxony , Luthin joined the judicial service of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia with effect from October 1, 1971 , where he initially worked as a judge at the Regional Court of Münster .

In January 1978 he moved to the Hamm Higher Regional Court. It was at this point that Luther began to focus on family law . He first became rapporteur and , with effect from November 13, 1991, chairman of one of the family senates newly established through the reform of the family and family procedural law, in which function he also retired in 1999.

In addition to his judicial work, Luthin was a long-time lecturer in the context of further training for lawyers, especially since 1980 at the German Lawyers Academy, and was (co-) editor from 1981 (until 2015) and one of the editors of the journal for the entire family law (FamRZ), beyond he was a commentator in the Munich Commentary on Maintenance Law (up to the 4th edition). He was also (up to the 10th edition) editor and co-author of the manual on maintenance law (Verlag Vahlen / Beck).
