Horst Meinhardt (* 1948 / 1949 in white water ) is a former German speed skater .

career

Meinhardt won the speed skating championship of the German Democratic Republic over the 500-meter course in 1971 when he started for SC Dynamo Berlin . He played ice hockey at SC Einheit Dresden . In both sports, speed skating and ice hockey (in Weißwasser), he was also active as a trainer.

From 1995 to 1997 he was the athletic trainer of the football team of the Dresden Monarchs and also worked in Frankfurt (Oder) on the fitness of football players , from 1998 he held this position at the Hamburg Blue Devils , where his sons Rico and Toni also played at the time. At the European Championship in 2000 Meinhardt was a member of the coaching staff of the German national team and was responsible for the athletics of the players. He remained the athletic trainer of the Blue Devils until 2005 and later also carried out this role in the Hamburg youth division. His main job was together with his son Toni as managing director of a temporary employment agency in Pinneberg.
