Horst Niebuhr

Horst Niebuhr (born May 4, 1936 in Hanover ; † February 23, 2013 ) was a German local politician in Seelze and full-time youth officer for the city of Hanover.

Life

Horst Niebuhr completed an agricultural apprenticeship and then worked as an agricultural assistant. Niebuhr later worked as a steel worker in the iron and steel works in Linden , before continuing his training as an agricultural engineer at the Michelsenschule in Hildesheim from 1957 to 1960 . He then graduated from the advanced school of social workers, the Wichernhaus School Hannover, the training of social workers . From 1963 Niebuhr initially worked for the state capital Hanover as a youth carer. In 1966 he co-founded the Jazz Club Hannover . In 1972 he became youth officer and head of youth care. In 1996 he took early retirement.

From 1968 to 1974 Niebuhr, a member of the SPD , was honorary mayor and municipal director of the municipality of Dedensen , after the regional reform until 1981 he was the local mayor of the district of Dedensen. From 1974 Niebuhr was a council member of the city of Seelze. From 1986 to 2006, when he resigned from the council, he was also mayor of the city of Seelze. From 1982 to 2001 Niebuhr was a member of the district council of the district of Hanover , after the reform from 2001, then a member of the regional assembly until 2006.

Niebuhr died of a heart attack . The funeral took place on March 1, 2013. Niebuhr was married and had three children.
