Horst Rohde (geologist)

Horst Rohde (* 15. August 1936 in Hagen , † 12. January 2016 in Hannover ) was a German geologist , museum - curator and nonfiction - author . In particular, he published writings for the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover , for which he also worked as chief curator.

Life

Horst Rohde studied geology at the University of Münster , where he wrote his dissertation on the geology of the Remscheid and Rimmert strata in the western part of the Remscheid-Altenaer saddle between Leichlingen, Solingen, Remscheid and Wermelskirchen: Unterdevon, Ems level, Rheinisches Slate mountains dropped.

Chief Custodian of the Lower Saxony State Museum in the state capital Hanover , Horst Rohde published a number of papers on permanent and special exhibitions of the museum, in particular from 1980, in which he headed the geology department with the sub-divisions of mineralogy, ores, geological history and evolution with around 150,000 exhibits.
