Horst Rusch

Horst Rusch (born May 21, 1939 in Naugard ) is a former German trade unionist ( FDGB ), youth functionary ( FDJ ) and politician ( SED ). He was chairman of the FDGB district committee in Neubrandenburg , a member of the SED district leadership and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR.

Life

Rusch was born into a working class family. From 1955 to 1958 he trained as a locksmith . In 1954 he joined the FDJ, 1955 the FDGB and 1958 the SED. From 1959 to 1960 he attended the district party school in Neubrandenburg. From 1960 to 1963 he was first secretary of the FDJ district leadership in Röbel . 1963/1964 he studied at the Komsomol University in Moscow . In 1964 he acted as head of department and from May 1965 to March 1974 as first secretary of the FDJ district management in Neubrandenburg (successor to Werner Breitsprecher ).

From March 1967 to 1974 and again from 1977 to 1989 Rusch was a member of the SED district leadership and its secretariat. From 1974 to 1979 he studied at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow. He completed his studies as a social scientist.

From March 1977 to 1989 he was chairman of the FDGB district board in Neubrandenburg and since May 1977 a member of the federal board of the FDGB. From 1986 to March 1990 Rusch was a member of the FDGB parliamentary group and a member of the People's Chamber .
