Horst Schmidt (born June 8, 1948 in Munich ; † July 5, 1990 ) was a German football player . From 1967 to 1970, the midfielders and defenders for the graduated TSV 1860 München in the Bundesliga 46 games in which he scored four goals.

Career

Schmidt started playing football as a youth at Bayern Munich . Via black and white Munich he came to TSV 1860 Munich in 1965, for whom he played in the first team from 1967 to 1973. He made his debut under coach Albert Sing on September 30, 1967, in the 0-1 home defeat against MSV Duisburg in the Bundesliga. He was substituted on for Hans Rebele in the second half . At the end of the round, the “lions” took 12th place and the young player had 15 BL alongside Petar Radenković , Manfred Wagner , Rudolf Steiner , Hans Reich , Željko Perušić , Alfred Heiss , Peter Grosser , Hans Küppers , Wilfried Kohlars and Ludwig Bründl -Disputed appearances and scored two goals. Until his relegation from 1860 Munich at the end of the 1969/70 season, Schmidt played in the Bundesliga and played 46 games in which he scored four goals. On the last day of the relegation season, May 3, 1970, he was part of the team that left the Bundesliga with a goalless 0-0 home draw against Rot-Weiss Essen. At that time Franz Binder was the “Löwen” trainer and Horst Blankenburg , Klaus Fischer and Ferdinand Keller were his teammates.

He then played three more seasons for the "Löwen" in the regional soccer league south . There he came to nine goals in 70 league games. While the injury-prone Schmidt was still an undisputed regular player and temporary captain in the first two rounds under coach Hans Tilkowski , the early career end of 1972/73 came after just seven more missions. In August 1972 he suffered a protracted injury that did not allow him to start a new competition attempt until February / March 1973. After the substitution for Wolfgang Lex on March 31, 1973 in the 2: 3 away defeat under coach Elek Schwartz at Freiburg FC, Horst Schmidt's football career was over. Schmidt played a total of 116 league games for TSV 1860 in which he scored 13 goals.

In the European competition of the trade fair cup in the 1967/68 season, Schmidt made three appearances against Servette FC and Liverpool FC .
