Horst Siewert (animal photographer)

Horst Siewert ( 1902 in St. Petersburg - 1943 in Crete ) was a German wildlife photographer and filmmaker, director, screenwriter, cameraman, film producer, wildlife biologist and forester. In 1939 he was at the University of Applied Sciences Eberswalde with a dissertation about the courtship of Great Bustards doctorate . In 1943 he died of a heart attack while filming in Crete. Heinz Sielmann completed Siewert's last documentary.
