The Hotel Detmolder Hof is under monument protection standing hotel in Detmold . The hotel building and a rear courtyard wing are part of the monument .
History and description
The eaves , plastered quarry stone house with ashlar structure was built in 1560. Around 1570–1580, a gable was added to Exterstrasse (north) . The sloping gable is set with stone balls, the top and the two lower end points are decorated with stone shells.
After several renovations, extensive redesigns took place in 1887 and 1913/1914, with the eaves side facing Langen Strasse (west) being increased by one storey in half-timbered construction. The north-western bay window was closed with a pointed tower, the neighboring one was given a design based on the Renaissance.
The half-timbered -Hofflügelbau was 1780/1781 added to the east side and served as farm buildings . A hotel kitchen was installed on the ground floor in 1906, and apartments were set up on the upper and attic floors after 1945.
The building has been a listed building since 1985.
