Hotelleriesuisse (spelling HotellerieSuisse , actually the Swiss Hotelier Association , SHV; also Swiss Hotel Association ) is the business association of the Swiss accommodation industry and represents the interests of accommodation providers in Switzerland.

History and organization

The association was founded on February 11, 1882 as the Swiss Hotelier Association (SVH).

The member companies of HotellerieSuisse have two thirds of the Swiss bed supply and thus generate around three quarters of the corresponding overnight stays. As the umbrella organization of 13 regional associations, HotellerieSuisse is present in all parts of the country and linguistic regions and employs around 100 people in Bern and Lausanne .

Agendas

HotellerieSuisse supports the member companies in operational management, in ensuring the availability of qualified specialists for the industry, as well as in promoting industry and employer-friendly framework conditions at the political level.

The tourism is also one of the five major export industries of Switzerland. As a representative of a sub-sector of tourism, HotellerieSuisse is a member of various business associations and maintains strategic partnerships in the tourism sector.

It is under the patronage of HOTREC , the European umbrella organization for hotels, restaurants and cafés in Europe. HotellerieSuisse is a founding member of HOTREC .
