The Houk Spur is a bare rock spur in Queen Elizabeth Land in West Antarctica . In the southern Patuxent Range of the Pensacola Mountains , it extends 1.5 km southwest of Mount Dumais, starting from the southwest end of the Mackin Table .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1956 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Lieutenant Vernon Neal Houk (1929–1994), officer on duty on the Amundsen- Scott South Pole Station in the Antarctic winter of 1958.
