Hounsouho Bambara

Hounsouho Charles Bambara (born September 2, 1938 in Ouagadougou ) is a colonel and politician from Burkina Faso .

Life

After attending school, Bambara graduated from the Military Preparatory School in Ouagadougou , the African Military Preparatory School in Saint-Louis in Senegal and the Military School in Aix-en-Provence . He then completed the recruitment course for attending the Saint-Cyr military school in Autun from 1960 to 1961 . In July 1963 he was promoted to lieutenant . He then attended the military engineering school in Angers and in 1966 became head of the military cabinet of the President of Upper Volta Sangoulé Lamizana . In addition, he became General Secretary of the Chancellery of the National Order (Grace Chancellerie de l'Orde National) in July 1972 . In February 1974 he was appointed Minister for Interior and Security as captain of President Lamizana, who was now also Prime Minister of Upper Volta . In the course of a cabinet reshuffle, he took over the post of Minister for Information, Post and Telecommunications in 1975.

After the military coup on November 25, 1980 and the fall of Lamizana, he continued to serve as Minister of Information, Post and Telecommunications in the Military Committee for the Restoration of National Progress, chaired by Saye Zerbo . He held this post under Jean-Baptiste Ouédraogo until Zerbos was overthrown by another military coup on November 7, 1982 . On January 1, 1985, Bambara was promoted to colonel . Bambara is married and has five children.
