history
In 1932, Hoval's founder Gustav Ospelt received permission to build heating systems, thereby laying the foundation for the later company founding. After making simple stoves in the first few years, he developed the first central heating kitchen stove in 1942 , which was connected to the radiator via pipes . In 1945, Gustav Ospelt left finally HOVAL ( H eizapparatebau O spelled Va duz L IECHTENSTEIN) registered as a trademark and thus officially founded the company.
In 1953 the company launched the first boiler with a built-in hot water storage tank. Further start-ups in the United Kingdom and Italy as well as license agreements ensured continuous growth. A license agreement in 1955 with the steel company Friedrich Krupp brought rapid growth and opened up the German market for steel boilers for the company. Until 1971, Krupp manufactured boilers under its own name in Germany and sold them through their sales network of Krupp branches. Around 250,000 units were sold under the name of Krupp (KKS / TKS). From 1970, Hoval expanded its product range to include industrial ventilation devices and aluminum plate heat exchangers, which recover heat in air conditioning and ventilation systems as well as in process technology. In the next few years, the global sales network was expanded in Poland , the Czech Republic , Slovakia , China , Romania , Bulgaria , France , Spain and Croatia .
In 2008 Hoval invested in the production of heat pumps and took over Wärmepumpen GmbH in Matrei (WPM), Austria. In 2014, the heat recovery area was expanded with the acquisition of the Swedish company Enventus AB. In 2016, Hoval acquired the German YADOS GmbH and strengthened the district heating / heating networks area .
