Howard Cruse
Howard Cruse (born May 2, 1944 in Springville , Alabama , † November 26, 2019 ) was an American comic book writer who was best known for his works on homosexual topics.
The son of a pastor and a housewife grew up in Birmingham, Alabama . He began drawing comics in the early 1970s and published the underground magazine Gay Comix in the 1980s . From 1983 he published the humorous comic strip Wendel in the gay magazine The Advocate . At the beginning of the 90s, he created the graphic novel Am Rande des Himmels in four years , which brought him international recognition and several important comic awards.
He lived with his friend, the writer Eddie Sedarbaum, with whom he had been married since 2004, since 2003 in North Adams ( Massachusetts ).
