Howie Day (born January 15, 1981 in Bangor , Maine ) is an American singer and songwriter .

Career

Howie Day was influenced by artists such as Richard Ashcroft , Jeff Buckley , U2 , Radiohead, and Dave Matthews . He made his first appearance at the age of 15. First he played cover songs, later he began to write his own songs and sang them live in front of an audience. He plays the guitar, sings and records samples with an effects device (line-6).

He released his first album in 2000 under the title Australia . The recordings he financed himself and published them in the Indie - Label Daze Records .

In 2003 the second album followed under the title Stop All the World Now . For the first time Howie Day celebrated a chart success with the single Collide , which stayed in the US Top 25 for weeks and received various awards from radio stations. The song was also featured on the TV sitcom Scrubs on Ghost Whisperer and Emergency Room . The track is also featured on the Scrubs soundtrack.
