The Hrafntinnusker is a mountain in the south of Iceland .
It lies on the trekking route Laugavegur , that of Landmannalaugar by Þórsmörk leads. The drains from Íslands operates here the hut Höskuldsskáli. Above the hut there is a small glacier with a famous ice cave in which there was a fatal accident on August 16, 2006 when the ceiling of the cave collapsed.
The mountain is named after Hrafntinna, the Icelandic word for obsidian . This rock can be found in this area and it was used, among other things, at the Icelandic National Theater . The Hrafntinnusker rises up to a height of 1141 m, but there are different height indications.
