Prigorye

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prigorje (also Hrvatsko Prigorje ) is an area in central Croatia that surrounds the capital Zagreb .

geography

From a geographical point of view, Zagreb itself also belongs to the Prigorje, which leads many residents of different parts of the city (Šestine, Gračani, Remete, Markuševec, Sesvete i Sesvetska sela, Dubrava, etc.) to call themselves "Prigorci". The Prigorje stretches from the Medvednica (Zagreb's local mountain) to the Save River and east to the Moslavina . In the southwest it is bounded by the Žumberak Mountains . Harmica is considered to be the westernmost "border village" . In the northeast, Sveti Ivan Zelina is the limit.
