The Hualca Hualca is an extinct 6025 m high volcano in the Andes in southern Peru and is located about 110 km northwest of Arequipa .
The Hualca Hualca is the northernmost part of a 20 km long north-south chain of three large stratovolcanoes. At the southern end there is the dormant 6288 m high Ampato and in the middle the active 5976 m high Sabancaya . The Hualca Hualca was formed during the Pliocene and the beginning of the Quaternary , during which the summit probably reached a height of over 6500 m.
