The hub.berlin is a congress of the digital association Bitkom , which describes itself as a business Festival, on the topics of digitization of the economy , disruptive business models , technologies and start-ups in Berlin. In 2019 there were around 8,000 participants at the event. The hub.berlin planned for April 1 and 2, 2020, had to be postponed due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany .

history

In 2012, Bitkom organized the conference for the first time under the name Bitkom Trend Congress in Kosmos Berlin . The themes of the 2012 event were Mobile Adventures, Social Innovation and Information 2020. A year later, the Trend Congress moved to Station Berlin and focused on the digital economy. The 2014 Trend Congress with 1400 participants took place in Berlin under the motto “Exploring Digital Horizons”. The Bitkom Trend Congress has been going on under the name hub.berlin since 2017 and has been aimed at an international audience ever since.

At the event, both national and international representatives from large corporations, start-ups, medium-sized companies, venture capital funds as well as from politics and science will speak .

Start-up competition: Innovators' Pitch

The international start-up competition Innovators' Pitch has been taking place at hub.berlin since 2014. Young company founders present their business idea in front of the audience and an expert jury. Winners have been awarded in three categories since 2015. The 2017 winners were Blik ( Internet of Things category ), Boca Health (Digital Health category) and Twyla (Travel & Tourism category).
