history

HubSpot was founded in 2006 by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The company increased sales from $ 255,000 in 2007 to $ 375.6 million in 2017. In 2011, HubSpot bought Oneforty, the app store for Twitter developed by Laura Fitton . HubSpot also introduced new software that customizes websites for visitors. According to Forbes Magazine , HubSpot started out with a focus on small businesses, but has gradually moved to "larger businesses with up to 1,000 employees." On August 25, 2014, HubSpot filed for listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “HUBS” with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In July 2017, HubSpot acquired Kemvi, a company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to support sales teams.

The company provides functions for integration with salesforce.com , SugarCRM , NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other providers. Additional third-party services include templates or extensions. HubSpot also offers consulting services and resources for learning inbound marketing strategies through the HubSpot Academy. User group conferences as well as inbound marketing and certification programs are also offered. HubSpot markets its concept of inbound marketing through its in -house marketing, among other things, and has been named a " Highly Productive Content Creator" for its blog articles, social media posts, webinars and white papers.

A 2010 article in Harvard Business Review management magazine concluded that HubSpot's most effective inbound marketing feature was its free online tools. One of the tools, the so-called "website grader", analyzes and rates the performance of websites. In 2011, the company introduced a tracking feature for Twitter.

In 2018, HubSpot integrated Taboola into its dashboard, a global network for native advertisements based on the pay-per-click principle .

Free HubSpot CRM

In 2014, the company released the free HubSpot CRM. CRM is used to track and manage interactions between a company and its existing or potential customers. It helps companies forecast sales, measure sales team productivity, and report on revenue streams. The SaaS ( Software as a Service ) product is free and can be integrated with Gmail , G Suite , Microsoft Office for Windows and other software.

The Boston Business Journal named HubSpot on its list of the best places to work in 2012. In 2015, the company was named the best place to work in Massachusetts by the Boston Globe .
