The Hubbard Lake is a natural lake in the townships Caledonia , Alcona , and Hawes in Alcona County in the US state of Michigan . With an area of 35.8 km², it is the tenth largest lake in Michigan. The lake is 11 km wide in north-south direction and 3 km in length in east-west direction. The greatest depth of the lake is 26 meters, with an average of 9.9 m. It is fed by five tributaries with a catchment area of 378.14 km². The water is completely replaced over the course of four years.
The area around the lake is not an incorporated settlement area, it is listed by the United States Census Bureau as a census-designated place with the name Hubbard Lake . A village of the same name is located one to two kilometers north of the lake, but is already in the Ossineke Township in neighboring Alpena County .
