Hubert Büchel

Hubert Büchel (born November 30, 1951 in Feldkirch , Vorarlberg ) is a former Liechtenstein ambassador.

biography

Büchel worked for Hilti AG in Schaan between 1971 and 1973 . He studied at the University of Innsbruck , where he received a master's degree in social and economic sciences in 1977 (Mag. Rer. Soc. Oec.). From 1977 to 1981 he was a university assistant at the Institute for Public Finance at the University of Innsbruck. In 1981 he received his doctorate (Dr. rer. Soc. Oec.). From 1981 to 1993 he worked in the Department of Economics in Vaduz . During this time he was managing director of the Liechtenstein Institute in a secondary function from 1986 to 1990. From 1994 to 2007 he was the director of the Office for Economics. From 1988 to 1995 he was secretary of the Liechtenstein Banking Commission in Vaduz. From 1995 to 2002 Büchel was ad interim board member of the customs office in Vaduz.

From June 21, 2007 until his retirement in March 2013, Büchel was ambassador for the Principality of Liechtenstein in Switzerland. Doris Frick became his successor.

Büchel is a citizen of the municipality of Ruggell . He is married and has three children, a daughter and two sons. In 1996 he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit .
