Hubert Bourdot
Hubert Bourdot (born October 30, 1861 in Imphy , Nièvre department , † September 30, 1937 in Saint-Priest-en-Murat , Allier department ) was a French clergyman , botanist and mycologist . Its botanical-mycological author's abbreviation is " Bourdot ".
Life
Bourdot became a teacher at a private school in Moulins (Allier) in 1883 and was pastor of Saint-Priest-en-Murat from 1898 to 1937. He bequeathed his collection of mushrooms to the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris . His herbarium with around 9,000 plants was taken over privately by a family.
Bourdot was a member of the Société Mycologique de France and at times its vice-president.
research
His scientific interest was primarily in the floristry, systematics and taxonomy of effuser Hymenomycetes , here among others the Corticiaceae , Hydnaceae or the genera Stereum , Hymenochaete , Merulius , Vuilleminia , Aleurodiscus , Dendrothele , Gloeocystidium or Peniophora .
Together with Amedée Galzin (1853-1925) he published between 1909 and 1928 several important works on the hymenomycetes of France. The work of the two mycologists has mainly appeared in the journal Bulletin de la Société Mycologique de France .
