Hubert Gangl

Hubert Gangl (born September 28, 1874 in Graz ; † August 7, 1932 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Gangl studied after attending the State Trade School in Graz from 1892 to 1895 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Victor Luntz . During this time he became a member of the Association of German Art Academics Athenaia. From 1896 he was employed as chief architect in Arnold Heymann's office. After taking his master builder examination in 1906, he has been working as a freelance architect ever since. From 1907 to 1917 he shared an office with Eugen Felgel von Farnholz. In 1910 he became a knight of the Franz Joseph Order and Commander of the Papal Order of Gregory . In 1911/12 he was the building supervisory board member for the 12th Viennese district of Meidling. Gangl was buried in the Hietzingen cemetery .

meaning

Hubert Gangl was a very respected architect of his time. He stood out particularly with the construction of the Hetzendorf parish church , but also created numerous residential and commercial buildings. His historic buildings are characterized above all by a very picturesque design that adapts to the environment through the use of a local homeland style .
