Hubert Schmidt (lawyer)

Hubert Schmidt (born February 8, 1958 in Linz am Rhein ) is a German lawyer , attorney in Koblenz , honorary professor at the University of Trier and professor at the University of Trier .

Life and accomplishments

After graduation in 1976 Schmidt studied 1977-1983 jurisprudence at the Universities of Bonn , Freiburg and Trier. In 1983 he passed the first state examination in law . During his legal clerkship from 1983 to 1986, Schmidt worked as a research assistant with Uwe John and Peter Bülow . After the second state examination in 1986, he worked as a research assistant at the chair for civil law, commercial and business law and procedural law at Walter F. Lindacher until 1990 . There he received his doctorate in 1989 with the dissertation "On the completion of legal entities".

From 1990 to 1995 Schmidt was a partner in a law firm in Trier and then switched to a law firm in Koblenz. There Schmidt - managing partner since 1999 - works as a specialist lawyer for tax law and specialist lawyer for commercial and corporate law.

Schmidt has been a lecturer since 1993 and has been an honorary professor for commercial and corporate law as well as civil procedural law at the University of Trier since 2013 . Since 2003 he has also been professor for civil law, German and European business law and procedural law at Trier University of Applied Sciences, Birkenfeld Environmental Campus.

Schmidt is married and has two children.
