Walter F. Lindacher

Walter F. Lindacher (born February 20, 1937 in Schweinfurt ) is a German lawyer and former professor at the University of Trier .

Life

After graduating from high school , he studied law and economics at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Geneva , completing the first and second state examinations.

In 1963 his promotion to the doctorate in law at the University of Würzburg with a thesis on the subject of Constitutional Basis and limitations of the use of financial sector resources for the purpose of economic organization . Also at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, he completed his habilitation in 1972 with a habilitation thesis on the phenomenology of contractual penalties: contractual penalties, lump-sum compensation, etc. simple damage-proof contract , before he was subsequently professor for civil law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel between 1973 and 1975 .

In 1975 Lindacher became professor for civil law , commercial and economic law , civil procedural law and comparative law at the University of Trier. Alongside Horst Ehmann , Volker Krey and Peter Krause, he was one of the first professors at the newly founded Faculty of Law and taught there until his retirement . He was also a judge at the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz between 1979 and 1990 .

In addition to his teaching activities, he published specialist books such as cases on the general part of the BGB (1978, 5th edition 2010) and decoy and special offers: legal limits to selective low prices (1979). Since 1984, together with Norbert Horn and Manfred Wolf, he has written a legal commentary on the General Terms and Conditions Act with the title General Terms and Conditions Act: Law for Regulation d. Right d. General Terms and Conditions (4th edition 1999, 5th edition 2013 udT "AGB-Recht"). He is also co-editor of the major commentary on the law against unfair competition (last 2nd edition 2013/14). The monograph International Competition Procedure Law (2009) is one of his other publications . In 1989 he was editor of the Festschrift for Walther J. Habscheid on his 65th birthday .

For his own 70th birthday, the commemorative publication Facets of procedural law appeared in 2007 : liber amicorum Walter F. Lindacher . On his 80th birthday in 2017, his colleagues in Trier dedicated another commemorative publication to him. His students Wolfgang Hau and Hubert Schmidt later became university teachers themselves.
