Hubert from the Venn
Hubert vom Venn (born October 12, 1953 in Monschau ) is real Hubert Franke and lives in Roetgen . Until 2014 he was artistic director of the Nordeifeler Theater working group ( Venn's Theater in Roetgen). He works as a writer , cabaret artist , journalist and columnist .
Live and act
He has been married to the sociologist, journalist and cultural educator Ingrid Peinhardt-Franke since 1986 and has a daughter, Katharina.
Post-high school, he first daily newspaper - volunteer , journalist and press secretary . He became known as a screenwriter through his contributions for Hurra Deutschland , Tutti Frutti and RTL Saturday Night . Hubert vom Venn used to work as a gag writer, moderator ( WDR , Belgischer Rundfunk ) and radio editor-in-chief .
In 2000 he was nominated for the Rheinische Literaturpreis Siegburg . In 2001 he received the Silver Badge of Honor from the German Association of Journalists - in 2015 the Golden Badge of Honor.
Hubert vom Venn became known through his cabaret program with Jupp Hammerschmidt. Jupp Hammerschmidt & Hubert vom Venn went on tour together between 1993 and 2011. Jupp Hammerschmidt played the only SPD - mayor , who was elected in the Eifel and the ultra-conservative pastor of his town (played by Hubert from Venn) annoyed. At the beginning of 2010, Jupp Hammerschmidt and Hubert vom Venn announced that they would split up after their farewell tour in 2010/2011.
Since June 1, 2010, Hubert vom Venn has been the first chairman of the trade union Bezirksverein Aachener Presse in the German Association of Journalists . 200 journalists from the city region of Aachen, the districts of Düren, Heinsberg, Euskirchen as well as East Belgium and Brussels are organized in the union.
Hubert vom Venn has been touring solo with his Eifel, Herd and O'Venn program since 2012, most recently in 2013 with Christstollen are already there .
After these two solo tours, the current duo with Achim Konejung was founded by chance . It was originally supposed to be a one-time thing - the first joint appearance of the two. Since Konejung's partner Wolfgang Nitschke was ill, the two cabaret artists appeared spontaneously and without rehearsal in the former »Venn's Theater« in Roetgen. "Voreifler meets Eifeler" is what they called this program, which they played true to their motto "Whoever rehearses is cowardly". But it was already decided during the break - this has to be continued. When Anneliese Lauscher wrote in her review for the Eifeler Nachrichten / Eifeler Zeitung "It was by no means an 'emergency program' that the two of them offered their viewers, they have fun on their necks and the musical highlights aroused enthusiasm," reported the first organizers and wanted to book the new Eifel cabaret duo immediately. So the Voreifeler, Achim Konejung, and the Eifel highlander, Hubert vom Venn, who have known each other for almost 35 years, decided: “Well, we'll do something together. Why didn't we think of it earlier? "
The duo's previous programs: Last exit Eifel with a Christmas special in 2014 and 2015 Scher Dich zur Eifel , since 2016 “2000 Years Eifel - The Anniversary Revue”, from 2018 “Free State of Eifel”. The two perform irregularly with Nicholas Müller ( Jupiter Jones , von Brücken ) with texts and music - for example in 2015 at the Eifel Kulturtagen and Lit.Eifel
He will stand as the candidate for mayor of Aachen for Die PARTTEI in the local elections on September 13, 2020.
