Wolfgang Nitschke (born June 28, 1956 ) is a German cabaret artist .

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he and his colleagues Wilfried Schmickler and Heiner Kämmer belonged to the Cologne cabaret group “3Gestirn Koelln 1” for 13 years . In 2001 the trio won the “ German Cabaret Prize ”. The trio was a multiple guest on WDR television ( midnight peaks ). On February 24, 2002, the group separated by mutual agreement.

Eating bestsellers

Wolfgang Nitschke began his own career under the title "Bestsellerfressen" both as a book author and as a cabaret artist. His companions at the beginning were Norbert Alich , responsible for the vocals, and Stephan Ohm at the piano, with whom he performed from 1999 to 2002, then Nessi Tausendschön and Uwe Rössler for a year . Nitschke has been solo since 2004 and his programs consist of quoting, commenting on and exposing passages from books by prominent people, including Dieter Bohlen , Edmund Stoiber , Doris Schröder-Köpf , Heino , Jürgen Fliege , Dietrich Grönemeyer and the Dalai Lama . It is not uncommon for him to be very snappy and sarcastic.

Slaughter plate

Since January 2006, Wolfgang Nitschke has also appeared several times a month with his colleagues Hans-Günter Butzko , Christian Ehring ( Das Kom (m) ödchen ) and Robert Griess with the current programs, Schlachtplatte - The monthly final billing in houses such as the Bonn Pantheon , the Düsseldorfer Das Kom (m) ödchen or the Cologne mustard pot .

criticism

His style often brought him criticism, as some statements are perceived as "below the belt" and "levelless". He described Jürgen Fliege in his bestseller- eating program - The misery has an end as “God's fly shit” and a “sex maniac, a sex monster (...) a tail face that compromises everything that is already on the trees with one person. and shaken it down again unrestrainedly and coiled up ".

In addition, he is not afraid to use vulgar catchwords in an often insulting way. Nitschke polarized a. a. also because he printed an outraged letter to the editor about Nitschke's style in the booklet of his CD Bestsellerfressen - Das Elend hat ein Ende . The letter was written by a woman who wrote to the Bonner Generalanzeiger after an appearance by Nitschke. The letter did not make it into the newspaper, so Nitschke published it himself and took the opportunity to provide it with a snappy comment typical of Nitschke.

Quotes about Nitschke

  • "Nitschke's most damning arguments are the quotations." (Walter van Rossum in the Süddeutsche Zeitung )
  • "Nitschke, next to whom even the pope of criticism Marcel Reich-Ranicki pales into a lazy taster." (Ingo Plaschke in the WAZ )
  • “During the course of the program, he poured a bucket full of dirt and rubbish over the person of Cardinal Meisner . It didn't help that one or the other platitude was stylistically well formulated. He wasn't too primitive to incorporate a detour to homosexual associations at this point (how did this group deserve to be preferred to be exposed to ridicule?). Cabaret artists who, for lack of other ideas, drag what is sacred to others, do not deserve this title. "(From a letter to the editor, which Nitschke printed on one of his CDs)
