Hubert Freiherr von Czibulka (born August 16, 1842 in Boskovice , Moravia , † February 28, 1914 in Vienna ) was an Austrian military officer .

biography

Hubert von Czibulka, married in 1887 in his first marriage to Marie von Birnitz, in his second marriage in 1893 to Eleonore Ludowika Burjanek, was a pupil of the military academy in Mährisch Weißkirchen and, after successfully completing it on September 1, 1864, became a second lieutenant Field artillery moved.

He rose quickly in the imperial and royal armies , became a teacher of tactics at the war school in Vienna, general staff officer, brigadier (brigade commander) and division commander (division commander). On March 31, 1904 he was promoted to commander of the VIII Army Corps and commanding general of Prague . He also became the owner of the kuk Bohemian infantry regiment "Freiherr von Czibulka" No. 91 named after him

On April 27, 1905, Hubert von Czibulka was promoted to Feldzeugmeister and took over the rank of commanding general in Budapest and commander-in-chief of the IV Army Corps. On September 9, 1909 he was promoted to lieutenant captain of the Arcièren Life Guard and died on February 28, 1914 in Vienna.

The writer Alfons von Czibulka (1888–1969) was his son; the Austrian general Claudius Czibulka von Buchland (1862-1931) his stepbrother.
