Hugh Patrick Slattery MSC (born March 10, 1934 in Nenagh ) is former Bishop of Tzaneen .
Life
Hugh Patrick Slattery joined the Congregation of the Sacred Heart Missionaries at and received on 16 July 1958, the priestly ordination . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Louis Trichardt - Tzaneen on June 22, 1984 .
The Bishop of Lydenburg-Witbank , Mogale Paul Nkhumishe , donated him episcopal ordination on September 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were John Thomas Durkin MSC, Bishop Emeritus of Louis Trichardt-Tzaneen, and Andrew Zolile T. Brook , Bishop of Umtata .
On January 28, 2010, Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
