Hugo Andresen
Hugo Andresen (born October 4, 1844 in Altona , † August 17, 1918 in Munster ) was a German Romanist and Medievalist .
life and work
Andresen was the son of the Germanist Karl Gustav Andresen . During his studies he became a member of the Marchia Bonn fraternity in 1864 . It was 1874 in Bonn with On the Influence of meter, assonance and rhyme to the language of the old French poets to Dr. phil. doctorate and habilitation with Maistre Wace's Roman de Rou et des ducs de Normandie (2 vols., Heilbronn 1877–1879, review by Gaston Paris in: Romania 9, 1880, pp. 592–614). From 1892 Andresen was the first professor exclusively for Romance philology at the University of Münster . He was awarded the privy council title.
