Hugo Bervejillo

Hugo Bervejillo (born April 12, 1948 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan writer .

Bervejillo, author of the two historical novels Una cinta ancha de bayeta colorada and Basilio está en la frontera , co -founded the four editions between 1970 and 1971 at the side of Guillermo Chaparro , Tarik Carson , Hugo Giovanetti Viola , Daniel Bentancourt and Alfredo Fressia Universo magazine . From 1984 to 1985 he worked as a journalist and illustrator for the weekly newspaper Asamblea , and in 1989 for La República .

He also worked in 1991 for the Sunday edition La Hora Popular and from 1992 to 1993 for the cultural page of the weekly La Juventud . He was also a member of the publishing council ( Consejo Editor ) of the Fundación magazine until 1995 . There he was also a member of the jury for the Onetti-Rulfo literary competition for this magazine in 1995. Bervejillo has also contributed stories to the anthologies Contando historia (1995) and El cuento uruguayo (2002).
