Hugo Braesicke

Hugo Eugen Alexander Braesicke (born February 1, 1843 in Gut Heinrichsfelde, Niederung district ( East Prussia ); † October 6, 1898 in Bad Nauheim ) was a German local politician, member of the Prussian mansion and Lord Mayor of Bromberg .

Life

During his law studies in Königsberg (Prussia) , he and his brother Rudolf became a member of the Germania fraternity in 1862 . In 1866 he took part in the battles near Trautenau and Königgrätz as a lieutenant . During the Franco-Prussian War he was awarded the Iron Cross as a captain .

From 1873 he held various functions in the higher railway administration, in 1888 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class.

From 1890 he was first magistrate director and first mayor, from 1891 mayor of Bromberg. During his tenure, among other things, the establishment of the city theater and the introduction of electric lighting fell. In 1892 he became a member of the Prussian manor house as a representative of the city of Bromberg.

He died in Bad Nauheim in 1898 during a spa stay.
