Hugo friend
Hugo Freund (born January 2, 1879 in Prague , Austria-Hungary ; † May 25, 1942 in Lublin , Generalgouvernement ) was an Austrian - Hungarian entrepreneur and founder of " Hugo Freund & Co ". He was one of the first to use the British gemology services .
Live and act
In 1908 he founded the jewelry company Hugo Freund & Co. in Prague at Ovocný trh 15. In 1920 he expanded the factory with the introduction of pocket watch sales .
The Jewish-born Hugo friend was in 1942 by the Nazis arrested and the Theresienstadt ghetto deported. Soon afterwards he was deported to the Majdanek concentration camp in Lublin . Freund passed away shortly after arriving at the camp.
